In France, 220,000 women are victims of domestic violence. What solutions are available to help them escape? Housed in a large mansion whose location must be kept secret, Flora Tristan is the first shelter for women victims of violence to open in France. They arrive there in an emergency, are kept safe with their children, and receive support for several years. Filing complaints, legal, psychological, social, and professional support, support groups, children's areas, access to housing: everything is done to help them regain their zest for life and rebuild their lives away from violence.
