The last night
By Don McKellar
With Don McKellar, Sandra Oh, Sarah Polley
Release date March 3, 1999
Synopsis
Life goes on, even if it's the end of the world.
Toronto, the last day of the world.
Public services are abandoned. Shops, restaurants, public transportation, deserted. Impossible to find a taxi.
The sun continues to shine brightly, which is strange because night should have fallen, well, almost.
Patrick is invited to a farewell dinner with his loved ones, who wanted to bring the family together at all costs and relive a joyful Christmas celebration, just like in the past.
Craig has made a list of sexual experiences he wants to try while there is still time, but his list is long and there are only a few hours left.
Sandra is trying to get home to fulfill the suicide pact she made with her husband, Duncan. They plan to kill each other at midnight. But now her car is acting up and Patrick, who has run away from his parents' house, is in her way.
On the last night, destinies are made and broken once again, because even though time is running out, it is never too late to end your life on a high note.
