Synopsis

Cecilie and Joachim are young, in love, and about to get married when a car hits Joachim and leaves him paralyzed. The driver of the vehicle, Marie, consumed by guilt, asks her husband, Niels, a doctor, to comfort Cecilie. He falls madly in love with her. Cecilie, meanwhile, finds herself rejected by Joachim and struggles to resist the comfort Niels offers her.
