The Hospital of the Early Days

The First Days Hospital is a five-month immersion in the neonatal unit at Robert Debré Hospital in Paris. This intensive care unit for newborns treats premature babies, as well as full-term babies born with malformations or complications during delivery. This film tells the story of the care provided to a few children and their parents, from their admission to the unit until their discharge. It is a tribute to the dedication of the healthcare teams, to the beauty of the public hospital system, and a wake-up call about the dramatic consequences of its deterioration. The dedication of healthcare workers is not enough to compensate for the constant decline in the resources allocated to our healthcare system.
